Dragana Rakašević, DDS, PhD (DDSc)
Biography

Dr Dragana Rakašević graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia, in 2011.

In 2017, she earned a PhD in the field peri-implantitis treatment and photodynamic therapy. In 2018, she specialized in Periodontology and Oral Medicine at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade. Dr Dragana also participated in teaching and training students during her PhD and specialization studies.

Currently, Dr Dragana works as a Research Associate at the Department of Oral Surgery, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Serbia, at science research projects of Ministry of Science, Education, and Technology of Serbia (# 41008: Interaction etiopathogenetic mechanisms of periodontitis and peri-implantitis with systemic diseases of today).

Additionally, Dr Rakašević has several ongoing research projects. One of these projects is examining a new dermal collagen matrix and its use in gingival recession therapy. Other projects are related to periimplantitis therapies. Dr Rakašević is an author and co-author of several national and international research papers, and a lecturer in scientific meetings, such as ITI World Symposium, SADA, EuroPerio, AO and EAO congresses, Serbian symposium of Oral Surgeons and Implantologists, and BASS Congress.

Dr Rakašević is a member of international team for Implantology (ITI), Periodontology Association of Serbia, European Federation of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration (AO), European Association for Osseointegration (EAO), and the Women Implantology Network, WIN.

Dr Rakašević successfully performs surgical and non-surgical periodontitis treatment in clinical practice, as well as gingival recession treatment, periimplantitis laser treatment, and treatments of other oral soft tissues diseases.
